Another Charlie Classic For All Time!
« on: May 04, 2019, 11:44:31 AM »
When asked about building a circle of competence, after a lovely long answer by Buffett, Charlie responds:

"There is an advantage in specialization.  No one wants a doctor whose who is have dentist and half proctologist!"

Classic!  Cheers!

One more near the end of the meeting...when asked about why See's never became as big as Mars or Hershey.  Again, after an expansive answer by Warren, Charlie responds:

"We've failed at growing See's like you've failed at winning the Nobel Prize and immortality!  It's just too hard for us!"

Cheers!

CM was interviewed (for 6 hours) by the WSJ:

If anyone knows how to get around the paywall i'd be happy to read the transcript.

Why is Warren richer than you are? Was it because he started earlier?

Yes, but how come Einstein was poorer than I am?

😂
