Remember there was a thread about this. Thinking of designating to charity while valuations are down. Would like market to make the dollar go further than just handing it over to the charity.

What I am running into are Donor Advised funds/ Private foundation. The amount I am thinking doesnt make the cut for P Foundation because of cost/complexity to handle, I'm told. I checked into Donor Advised with Fidelity and the catch is they dont let me keep my investments, it has to be put in one of their pooled funds. Don't want to do that.

What avenues available for "hold for 20-30 years" and hand over to charity? Posting here as most are value investors and may have similar ideas. Both post-tax and pre-tax ideas welcome.
