As a bunch of people trying to make money through good decision-making and analysis, I think more of us should think about the quantity and quality of sleep we're getting.

Thanks Liberty, I look forward to listening.

One of the things I always mention early in the semester to my students is the role of sleep on learning. It is when your brain consolidates, and make sense, of class material. It is when you put things in long-term memory. That is why pulling an all-nighter to prepare for a test is a bad idea. When having difficulty with a problem, we have all had that experience of waking up and having a thought of what you might try next. That is because your brain worked on the problem while you were sleeping.

I also tell my class about spaced study, interleaving topics, focused mode and diffused mode thinking, mindset, self-control and grit, and varying your study location.

I use up too much class time on how to learn, so I have been working on a serious of videos that I hope will be interesting enough that they will watch them and I won’t have to use so much class time talking about how to learn.

You sound like a fantastic professor. This is all stuff I had to learn by trial and error. You're doing them a huge favor.
