"You were lied to and accepting you were fooled is difficult. I'm sorry folks were misled by Trump and others, but what Trump is doing is wrong. It's plain as day."

He was elected, delivered on his promises so I would say that people got exactly what they asked for. That is what is plain as day, not your theories and determining who is behaving worst and what not.

The meme that Trump has delivered on promises is a prime example of being fooled.

Term limits = no
Campaign finance reform = no
Healthcare = no
Drain the swamp = See last post and my post history for no
Reform Fannie/Freddie = no
Reform education = no
Re-do NAFTA = USMCA is unsigned and essentially the same agreement
Immigration reform = no
Wall = it was rebuilt in areas, but generally no
Iran nuclear deal = Signed deal that is weaker than the Obama deal
North Korea nuclear deal = NK is still testing long-range missles and nukes
Lower deficit = no

Taxes lower = for now, for some. Wait til 2021 when the first major sunsets hit and you'll see the tax bill was quite political and not for the middle class
Trade war with China = Yes (though we were promised it would be quick and easy)

Not a lot has happened in almost 3 years. If you actually followed US politics half as much as you pretend, you'd know Congress does nothing. Even when R's controlled it, the agenda was generally limited to confirmations. That's fine, but the narrative doesn't square with the facts. There's going to be all sorts of excuses in response. Democrats and McCain and blah, but the point of all those excuses is that not much has changed.

Poor Schwab, you have spent nearly 3 years of your life banging your head against the wall.

You kept posting endlessly about this Mueller report which amounted to... nothing. No indictment, no prosecution, no impeachment.

Now, you think that ha! ha! I have found it, thanks to Nancy Pelosi. LOL!

So we will see if you have been fooled... again?

Pretty funny Schwab about how you just make stuff up on the fly.

Still can't get over that 2016 election result - can you now?  Just can't accept it....we do call that "sore loser" & "sorry boys, you'll get your shot at the next election"....

So looks like impeachment is your only option now, as your Democratic candidates continue to go farther left and blow themselves up...

Wow. Thank you for putting together a list Schwab. It's great to see someone actually put in a little effort and act like an analyst and actually present data.

I would have expected that Trump's record was much better than what Schwab has presented. Can anyone argue with facts and lists that Trump has accomplished more? I would personally add that as of this morning, there is the first tiny little bit of progress showng on GSE reform, but it's really just the first green shoot of progress.

Here's Politifact's list that quantifies progress on Trump's promises. It was my attempt to disprove Schwab's list. It looks like the Politifact list is slightly more flattering, but still quite dismal. There are many promises on the Politifact that I am very disappointed have not been kept.

https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/trumpometer/browse/?page=2

Trump also seems to have done a good bit of flip-flopping, most all of which were not the type that would anger his base the most, but are still substantial flip flops:

I would argue you are spot on: Particularly with regards to your first point about how it is difficult to acknowledge being fooled. This very difficulty is what (I would surmise) inspired the feeble responses to your post.

And to add, your list is actually ignoring the second- and third- level consequences that will only show up over the next decades. Take for example EPA de-funding and de-regulation. We see continued contraction of the Coal energy industry, but de-regulation opens the door more pollution and, consequentially, externalizes borne by the country and citizenship as a whole. In other words, we are left with none of the planned benefits, but all of the unplanned potential costs. It's a lose-lose.

The same argument can be made for other items on your list, for example taxes (increasing income inequality and all the instability that brings with it) and immigration reform (losing cheap sources of labor and demand).

Better way to think about this:

What happens to the stock market if Trump wins and Elizabeth Warren wins?

If Elizabeth wins (I believe she is going to be the Dem nominee), the market will fall 25% in a month.

If Trump wins, the stock market will go up.

So so funny to see Schwab's list ---- hilarious actually.

Let's see - Iran Nuclear Deal - yep - right on Schwab - let's send the Mullahs pallets more of cash and "bring them into the world community",
while they laugh their asses off at what a sucker Obama and John Kerry were. "Thanks for the cash dipshit Americans - which we will use to
destabilize the rest of the Mideast, while we nuke up and you can't check it"

....And for the rest of you Americans - pay no attention to the most important reason you voted for Trump: Jobs and the Economy

You live in la-la land.

As an fan of Buffett (I assume since you reference him in your thread on Dale Carnegie) I am sure you have read his warnings on management sacrificing long-term growth for short-term profits.

Now I don't think EW is the healthiest long-term option, but I would argue that DT is doing exactly what Buffett warns long-term investors about.
