Title: Cost of an all-American Iphone - $2000
Post by: rukawa on September 12, 2018, 09:54:57 AM
Graphic at the end is really interesting. 50% of the cost of iphone parts and labour are due to two countries: Japan and Germany. Only 3.6% goes to China. And 6% goes to the US. That of course is just considering cost of components and labour:

Maybe then this would put the phones out of reach, price wise, of people who shouldn't be buying them in the first place. There's no reason for anyone making under $40K a year to be spending $500-$1000 on a phone. Yet MILLIONS do. I say this only partially facetiously.
