What is NOT in dispute is that there are 2 sets of rules.  One for people who cross the border illegally, and another for people who follow the law.  It can be argued that people following the law are a bunch of suckers...

No doubt - - if you follow the law, you are being a total rube.

Not quite true. As far as I know, legal immigrants are entitled to the full protection of the US gov't, can obtain a passport, can legally collect social security, medicare, etc., can legally vote, can walk around free of fear from the INS, etc etc etc.

Regardless, you missed my point.

My point is that it's more damaging to "the Republic" when the wealthy and powerful have a separate set of rules, rather than the poor and disenfranchised.

Really LC????

Don't you think that: "Hey my neighboor did this or my cousin did that." has more impact on people?

Never heard of the story where a couple listens to radio and 1,500 people died of a earthquake in Indonesia and don't react, a plane crashed in Paris killing 200 on board and again don't react when finally is announced that Mr. Brown (living on their street) died in a car crash. Then the couple reacts "Oh My! what will happen to his wife and children"?

I think you missed MY point.  You can't have MILLIONS of illegals coming in with no repercussions...in fact a lot of them will be GIVEN citizenship!

Do Bill & Hillary & Donald & others have a "different" set of rules?  Yes, they certainly do, and that is bad & damaging.

So it is when MILLIONS come across the border...so it is when you have "sanctuary" cities, counties & states.  When you have different branches of the government working against each other...when you have OPEN flouting of the laws.  When you have shifting demographics because so many people are coming across the border.

Instead of "what about isms", why not admit that illegal immigration is a problem and the lack of enforcement is ALSO a problem?  OR is that part of the plan?

Yes, once you break the law as an illegal - you break them again and again.

Don't show up for your immigration hearing? no problem

DUI? - no problem

No license? - no problem

Identity theft?  - no problem

Of course - for you and me - a couple of those would destroy our careers and send up to jail.
But when you have Jorge Ramos and Sanctuary cities available - the laws don't apply to you!

Maybe on people, but not when we're talking about the health of nations.

I mean, I really don't see how the Jones' hushed conversations that the Garcia's next door are illegal are a bigger threat to the health of the US than an increasing tone of plutocracy, government corruption, and regulatory capture.

Except for the fact that the illegal immigrant is relegated to (1) fearing the INS for your entire life, (2) economically quarantined to the bottom rungs of the socio-economic ladder, (3) gambling with the health and welfare of your children and their future, (4) scarcely able to participate in basic public functions, (5) at constant threat that their family, job, and all their possessions can be taken from them at a moment's notice; and I'm sure tons of other really crappy situations I can't imagine.

I mean, if it was such a great deal, why aren't all the millenials making 30K, 40K, 50K, just throw it all away and go party it up with the illegal immigrant community on the dole?

So you are perfectly ok with illegals that live here breaking all these laws - you are the perfect liberal LC!

Keep making excuses for them.  I'll wait for your excuses on Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib and the new anti-Semitism of the Democratic
left --- I suppose the Jews deserved it too!!

I was just reading something on this and thought the same thing. Imagine a republican making a hostile remark about "the blacks"? Or Accusing someone of "talking with Mexicans" the way lefties demonize "Russians"? Oh good lord they'd lose it. But at the same time you have blatant hatred of Jews with openly anti-Semitic attacks. You have black lawmakers making denigrating remarks about gay people...and... THERE IS LITTLE IF ANY REAL PROBLEM WITH IT! A republican making those remarks would be forced to resign. Ilan whatever her name is just gets to half ass an "apology". The Bronx guy, refuses to even do that!

I used to think that the left just picked which minorities where important to their cause and went with it. Now though it seems that they are just full of shit and do the same stuff they criticize Republicans for, but just let it slide when its one of their own. Its all a sham.
