Geez!  You have a short memory I guess:

Also, the left-wing nutjobs don't call you a "retard", which would make more sense than your liberal shot of "libtard", so going forward I will be banning any posts where anyone (especially all of the libtard stuff, because that's most of the garbage on here)...to restore a modicum of decorum on the Politics board.  Cheers!

LOL come on Sanjeev! A short memory? You posted something from over a half decade ago! And yes, the Republicans and Trump did stuff like this, and the lefties whined and cried and made a scene. Now they go and do it too...you can't do that. Unless you're just liars and hypocrites. They dont care about 1st Amendment or freedom of the press. They just like to bitch about Trump.

I didn't say it was right...just that it has happened before and by the other party.  They are all the same.  Cheers!

When the soap you're selling, is so bad, that you can't get the distribution channels to carry it ....
It really means that you need to change the soap ;)

Maybe a stupid question, but why does it matter where you watch a debate? Does it matter because people actually pay more attention to secondary commentaries from these partial “analysts” rather than what is being debated?
Also, do these debates even matter any more? Looks like everyone has already either formed an opinion or looks at sources other than TV.

I like the debates because you can see the logical thought processes of the candidates.

Do they answer the stated question? Or do they pivot and try to talk about something else
Is their answer complete, does it address the underlying concerns? Is their logic consistent?
How do they behave under pressure?

This is why I really lose respect when candidates are given questions beforehand. The debates are one of the few times we can see these people truly "on the spot". To subvert that component undermines a crucial part of the democratic process.

My own view is that the debates do not add anything substantive.
It's essentially a cage-match where the 'entertainment' is seeing someone screw-up. Intentional, or otherwise.

Each party is selling their candidate, but they can't win, if they can ONLY get their 'base' to vote for them.
They have to either win some of their opponents support, or 'split' that opponents support over multiple 'similar' candidates.

Identity politics is about capturing the largest base possible - then making everybody else mad at you.
Split your opposition over multiple small groups, make emotion versus head the norm, and you'll win.
Clever.

Of course ... until someone unites the opposition, under a movement (Me too?)
.... and your boy's suddenly wearing milk-bone undies, in front of a wolf-pack.

You don't need to win the majority of the vote, you just need to be 'first past the post' in each riding.
But once everybody else knows your trick ...

Run buddy, run! ;)

Yep, after watching a republican debate the last go around, my opinion of Marco Rubio went up.

I admire your patience and tolerance Parsad.  I would've banned Gregmal and friends from the forum and close the politics section.  I feel like this forum has gone downhill since politics was introduced.
