wut, wut, wut?  accept THOUSANDS of immigrants?  Canada should be accepting MILLIONS of immigrants!

Why can't they follow America's lead on this?  I thought they were a compassionate society?

I would not be at all surprised if the estimates of illegal immigrants in the USA is being VASTLY under stated by EVERYBODY.

I lived in Texas, near Houston for many years.  The Houston area ALONE most definitely has 1MM+ illegal immigrants.  Not all of them are from Mexico and Central/South America either...

Um, Houston has a population of 2 million people. You're saying that it's actually 3 million people, and that 1 in 3 people in Houston are undocumented immigrants?

Alternatively, the Houston metro area has 6 million people, so you're saying it's actually 7 million people, and that 1 in 7 people in Houston are undocumented immigrants?

I also lived in Houston for many years (and grew up near Houston in Sugar Land), and your numbers are... way off.

I am talking about the general Houston area including Baytown/Pasadena and the nearby suburbs.

If you don't think there are a lot (hundreds of thousands+) of illegal aliens in/around the Houston area...I don't know what to say other than we can disagree.

Frankly, I don't care what kind of tattoos anybody has, and don't know why anyone else does either. Yes, even those gangster tears that indicate murder; if you want to deface yourself, by all means that's up to you. Nonetheless, here is another liberal tool bag willing to potentially destroy the life of an American hero why? I have no clue. Just to push a political agenda it seems.

No, they shouldn't. At least keep north of the boarder in good shape so the rest of us have an alternative should things continue the way they have.

OK, in the boring world of BRK ownership, just thought of updating the #s for FANG versus BRK

FANG
         Mkt cap: $2321   Net Earnings: $31.6   Book: $257.3   P/E 73.4   P/B 9.0
BRK           Mkt Cap $483   Net Earnings: $45   Book: $348   P/E 10.7   P/B 1.4

Mkt cap are today's numbers the rest are Dec 17 numbers, so the current ratios could be quite a bit off, especially for the  FANG stocks. Also notable is that FB and GOOG make up 90% of the FANG's $31.6B and 85% of the book.

It's all over for BRK. The FANG's have won and they will take it all!

How are you coming up with $45B earnings for BRK?

Every goverment is free to make, & enforce, its own policies.
But only the very dumb ones allow these kinds of images out, as the optics make it impossible to sell your message.

Trump has f****d up so badly, he has had to send Sessions out to try & distract the media through the 'Nazi' comment.
Problem is that the 'dog cage' images keep coming, & the Sessions distraction has been ineffective.
The PR f****p remains purely Trumps  ....

Hard to vote for 'baby snatchers'.
Last time around it was the 'baby killers' of the Vietnam War, and it didn't go well for the party in power.
https://www.quora.com/Why-were-U-S-Soldiers-called-Baby-Killers-during-the-Vietnam-war

So what's the GORP to do ?
Maybe pay for the 'baby snatcher' posters, but ensure that Trumps face is nice & prominent.
This is the idiot, not us!

I've been flipping this around a little bit. Today you could buy the stub for $0.25 for a short while. Pro forma book value 174m as per todays update or ~$2.50 per share. Tangible book ~$0.90 per share. Not sure where it should trade but that seems too cheap.

I grabbed a few more shares around $9.6 adding to an already big position. Its used car business seems doing fine.

Canada is wealthier than America and has better social safety nets. Canada can accept more migrants/refugees than it is doing today but looks like it isn't.

The numbers being talked about is in the thousands not in the hundreds of thousands
