Parsad, don't worry, I think he's going to "go through something" we just have to be patient to see an outcome for a couple of reasons. First, this is one of the largest crime scenes in history and will likely result in more prosecutions than anything I can think of. Second, there is an ongoing threat from the radicalized elements and moving too fast will stoke their loss aversion so moving slowly is not necessarily a bad thing.
At this moment there are still 53 votes left to go, but with already having 9 Republicans to impeach, Don just became the President to have more members of his own party to vote for his impeachment than any other President in US history. I believe the previous record was five for Bill Clinton, but I'm going by memory.
As far as conviction goes in the Senate, if the trial were held tomorrow, I believe we would be surprised to see that more than 3x that number of republicans would vote to convict in the house. If the vote was held in 100 days, my guess is that the number voting to convict would be closer to 100% of Republicans than 50%. On either time schedule I think it would result in a conviction.
EDIT: The finally tally was ten votes to convict from his own party so possibly 2x the previous record? That is an ominous sign for Trump as to what could happen in the Senate.
What's going on in the Congress is all just show. Trump has not managed to corrupt the Secret Service, FBI or the military, so the wheels of justice will have their chance to turn slowly. The way things are going with his precious lawyer, he may be left with an enthusiastic defense team like these two:
