Why do you think this one stands out? Isn‘t that his #6 advisor from his inner circle that ran into trouble with law. has anyone ever met a person who had 6 convicts (Technically Bannon is not a convict yet but I guess he will be) in his inner circle who isn’t criminal himself?
I'm just saying that this scandal directly effects the people who support him. 1) A President who promised a wall 2) the President's people then raising funds for that wall from poor or middle class people 3) and that money being used to buy luxury boats.
I think the reputation harm caused by this among his supporters can be significantly worse than, say, the reputation harm caused by Roger Stone lying under oath or witness tampering or Rick Gates conspiring against the United States.
It really reminds me of the financial crisis problems at BAC, JPM, C vs. the fake account scandal at WFC. One of these situations caused minimal financial harm to the bank AND to the customers yet it's safe to say that it's probably fared the worst out of them all from a PR standpoint.
Edit: having said that, it's probably more likely Trump will convince his cult followers that they are not to believe what they see.
Imagine getting a pitch for a company where the CFO, Head of HR, chief operating officer, chief legal advisor, Head of Investor Relations, Director of the Board are all criminals and someone want to sell you this investment because the CEO is great and prior management was worse
?
Lol, if this was an investment topic, then the deep dive, fact driven, value investors on this forum would universally fall into line with this sentiment.
But because it's politics people have a tribal nature and refuse to see facts or use common sense.
