Can Pelosi just hold the articles of impeachment and let the voters decide on Senators before transmitting them? Is it fair to let a lame duck Senate make this choice?  ;)

If Pelosi holds onto the articles of impeachment for any period of time, it is going to backfire on her (DEMS) bigly.

How in the world does she think this is NOT going to be perceived negatively?  Does she think the rest of America is really as stupid as she thinks we are?

If she wants to wait a week or so, fine.  If she wants to wait 4-5 months, she's got another thing coming.

Impeachment was "super urgent". Now she's "taking her time"... I cant believe there isn't a single political strategist in the party who doesnt see how bad they are making themselves look.

the US constitution grants sole powers to impeach to house, and try to senate.  how that power is exercised in each body is up to the rules each body establishes, and the process each decides to follow.  so the house by hurrying up and then deciding to wait (sort of coitus interruptus) is showing the world that its process is SNAFU/FUBAR.

in my considered view of the constitution (though of course there is no precedent directly on point because the US has thankfully never had such incompetent house members running the impeachment before), the senate is empowered to begin the trial, have a seat for the house impeachment manager to sit in, let it sit empty, and conduct a rather quick and conclusive trial.  but I think senate thinks there is more political hay to be made to string the whole absurd house process out...giving the house more rope so to speak.

I've changed my mind.  I used to think Schiff, Nadler and Pelosi were incompetent buffoons.  now I think that and that they are malevolent as well.

I've changed my mind.  I used to think that right were uninformed. Now I think that they are intentionally close minded and malevolent as well. And will support the racist, misogynist, egomaniac, law breaking pisspot to the bitter end.

Well, for one, I still haven't really figured out what theyre accusing him of? Negotiating? He held up giving out millions of bucks for A FEW DAYS in return for something? And the folks accusing him of withholding aid do so in the face of all that Trump has done for Ukraine that previous presidents didn't? Odd.

Otherwise, yea nothing in my mind has changed. The lefties in office and their supporters hate Trump so much they defend terrorists, root against the economy, and in general spend way too much time just being fake and self righteous about things that on a fundamental level are a complete joke.

Like, after seeing their playbook how many times?? over the past decade, we're really now supposed to be impressed and surprised with yet again, another 11th hour, anonymous leak, peddled by some 2nd rate left leaning news outlet, and now "DEMAND" witnesses? And then if we arent convinced, we most certainly should be because CNN of all places decides to blast the words "bombshell" in bold letters all over their website, which, obviously if they say it enough we must be convinced it was a bombshell!! LOL. No, by now I dont think there is anyone stupid enough to not realize, just like with everything else, they orchestrated this weeks ago, held onto it, colluded, and then had it released when convenient, thinking we're all idiots and would now "demand" that these scoundrels get witnesses! Which by the way, THEY were supposed to take care of in the house. Funny, funny stuff.

They still rather stick to their nonsensical platitudes than just admit they've been wrong all along. From the meritless cries of racism to the Russia Investigation. It just never ends, as the fellow above notes... in the face of more progress for African Americans, criminal justice reform, women's rights, etc... they still just rather spout off with their labels. Racist, misogynist, blah. blah, blah. Just like with Nadler, Schiff and the rest of the idiots at this point, eventually you no longer need noise canceling headphones, you just automatically tune it out because you've seen both the movie and read the book; and it's garbage...
