The Strange Politics of New Media
« on: December 13, 2017, 02:09:36 PM »
When the Internet first began it was libertarian.

After it became popular it became very liberal. Most of the major websites and blogs were liberal. There were conservative blogs but generally I would say liberals dominated. Certain sites like Wikipedia have a major left-wing bias.

But Youtube is very right wing despite being run by a very left-wing company.

I am not sure about forums...I would say forums tend to be the most fair and unless you have unbalanced moderation both sides have a voice.

I think its strange that each medium appears to be dominated by a particular political persuasion
